Radio User “Train the Trainer” (initial) Services
2-day class intended for personnel who will be teaching others within their agencies on the use of P25 Trunked mobile and portable radios. The course will educate the students on the proper operation and features of modern P25 radios. The course includes a detailed overview of the P25 Trunked radio system to be used (ARMER, ISICS, etc.) by the target agencies, as well as the local subnetwork for city and county agencies. A technical review of coverage, tower sites, Fleetmap/Talk Groups and Interoperability is included. State, Regional and Local operational requirements are presented and discussed, to ensure students establish an understanding of being part of a larger multi-user network.
Class is “hands on” at the customer’s location using live radios on the local network. The agency’s specific local operations will be incorporated into the class planning. Students will be required to “teach back” to the class at least one topic to validate their presentation skills and knowledge of the material being taught.
Radio User “Train the Trainer” (refresher) Services
1-day refresher class intended for personnel who teach others within their agencies on the use of P25 Trunked mobile and portable radios. This course is an abbreviated version of the 2-day class listed above, and provides updated information for those students who have previously completed the full 2-day program.
Radio End-User Training Services
Description: 2-day class intended for the direct training of agency personnel on the use of P25 Trunked mobile and portable radios. This course again covers all of the topics and materials included in the “Train the Trainer” (above) program but excludes the focus of training to others.
Class is “hands on” using live radios on the local network. The agency’s specific local operations will be incorporated into the class planning.
MCC7500 Radio Dispatcher PSAP Console Training (initial)
2-day class intended for personnel who work in 9-1-1 emergency dispatch centers. This course will educate staff on the proper operation, use and features of Motorola MCC7500 radio dispatch consoles, with a focus on equipment that is directly connected to a P25 Trunked radio system. Trunking systems, Fleetmap/Talk Groups and Conventional radio resources are key elements of the course, as well as the numerous features and dynamic functionality of the MCC7500 consoles.
The course will include a detailed overview of the P25 Trunked radio system to be used for the target agencies, as well as the local subnetwork for city and county agencies. A review of coverage, tower sites, Fleetmap and Talk Groups is included. Class is “hands on” using live consoles on the radio system. The dispatcher’s increased role in directing end-user agencies to proper radio channel/TG resources is an important element of the training, as well as scenario-based activities.
MCC7500 Radio Dispatcher PSAP Console Training (refresher)
1-day refresher class intended for personnel who work in 9-1-1 emergency dispatch centers and have previously received the full 2-day Initial Training program (above). This abbreviated course covers updates, new features and optional changes that have been established for system user agencies.
MCC7500 Radio Console Administrator (Console Admin)
A 4-hour class intended for personnel who are responsible for the management of the MCC7500 radio control consoles in 9-1-1 dispatch centers.
P25 Trunked Radio System Administration (System Admin)
A 2.5-day class intended for personnel who are responsible for managing the Dispatch and end-user mobile and portable radio inventories being used with statewide P25 Trunked radio systems. All statewide trunked system user agencies are required to have a specific point of contact for the agency’s use of these radio systems. This course is for those agencies that have chosen to purchase and implement a System Administration workstation which allows access into the radio network.
Motorola APX Mobile and Portable Radio Programming (CPS) Training
A 3 day course developed for personnel and agencies that desire the direct management of their P25 mobile and portable Trunked radio inventory. This course will cover the development of code plugs and radio templates, Fleetmap/Talk Groups, conventional resources, and the multitude of functions and capabilities associated with the APX radios. A review of the technical and operational requirements associated with the P25 Trunked radio system being used will also be covered.
Training is conducted “hands on” at customer’s location with laptop computers, appropriate software, and customer radios.
Non-User (Elected Official) Training
A 2 to 3 hour semi-technical review of current P25 Trunked radio systems for newly elected government personnel who have joined local radio system committees and need to develop a basic understanding of the relevant topics associated with governance of the local networks.
